Kanye West – one of the most influential figures of popular hip-hop, mainstream entertainment and popular culture of the 21st century in general – has announced that his new album, ‘DONDA’, will release on August 6th via GOOD and Def Jam Recordings after the new record did not arrive as advertised last week.
He premiered the new album on July 22nd during a special listening party at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. This global event was live-streamed in partnership with Apple Music, and it broke records for the streaming service, with over 3.3 million listeners tuning in to the event. The new album features guest contributions from a who’s who list of current mainstream Hip-Hop stars. The credits include Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Pusha T, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Pop Smoke, Baby Keen and others.
The title of his new album pays homage to his late mother, Donda West, who was also the namesake for his creative content company, Donda. As one of the wealthiest and most powerful businessmen globally and one of the most successful musicians in the history of Hip-Hop music, plenty of his keen fans will be enthusiastic to see what the new album offers for them in a few weeks time.
